JAKARTA, DDTCNews - The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (Kanwil DJP) Jakarta Selatan II has blocked 60 accounts belonging to Taxpayers as part of efforts to collect a total of Rp1.07 trillion in arrears.
Head of Kanwil DJP Jakarta Selatan II Imam Arifin said the blocking was carried out simultaneously to improve tax compliance and secure state revenue.
"This simultaneous account-blocking action is a form of our commitment to enforcing tax law firmly yet professionally," said Arifin, as quoted on Saturday (23/5/2026).
Account blocking and asset seizure are regarded as legal instruments mandated by legislation to secure tax revenue.
"We hope this action will serve as a deterrent to tax debtors whilst at the same time raising the awareness and compliance of all Taxpayers in fulfilling their tax obligations," said Arifin.
Prior to blocking the accounts of the Taxpayers in question, Kanwil DJP Jakarta Selatan II had undertaken a series of persuasive and active collection measures through the issuance of warning letters and forced collection letters.
Going forward, Kanwil DJP Jakarta Selatan II is committed to consistently pursuing the collection process should Taxpayers remain uncooperative in settling their tax debts.
In light of this case, Kanwil DJP Jakarta Selatan II urges Taxpayers to fulfil their tax obligations voluntarily and on time in support of national development. (dik)
