JAKARTA, DDTCNews - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) is stepping up joint audit activities, namely oversight and examination of Taxpayers. This move is the authority's effort to ensure national Tax Revenue grows strongly to reach 23% throughout the 2026 fiscal year.
To achieve this target, DJP is also continuing to optimise the performance of the coretax system to make it increasingly reliable in supporting Taxpayer oversight activities.
"There are several things we are intensifying this year that were perhaps not as intensively pursued in previous years," said Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto at the APBN Kita press conference, Tuesday (5/5/2026).
Bimo explained that DJP is conducting joint audits or joint examinations of tax obligations intensively. These activities are carried out together with vertical units of the Ministry of Finance, namely the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) and the Directorate General of Budget (DJA).
DJP is also cooperating with the National Police (Polri) and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK), which are part of the Tax Revenue Security Synergy Task Force. Furthermore, the Tax Authority is also working with the Financial and Development Supervisory Board (BPKP) in conducting tax audits.
As the next strategic step, Bimo stated that DJP is conducting examinations of Taxpayers who participated in Tax Amnesty Volume II, or the Voluntary Disclosure Programme (PPS), which was launched in 2022.
"We are also addressing matters related to the examination of PPS participant Taxpayers who under-disclosed their assets. We are revisiting the accuracy of their repatriation commitments and checking whether there were any undisclosed items at the time of PPS," he explained.
Not only that, DJP is also conducting examinations of group Taxpayers, and is refining coretax to make it more seamless, accurate, and effective. As a result, coretax can be relied upon more heavily for conducting examinations.
"We are of course continually developing coretax. With improvements in data quality and integration, oversight can be enhanced," Bimo concluded. (sap)
